A heritage built around food.
Founded as a family business in 1985, Doğuş Çay began in tea production. Over the years, the group expanded into sugar, tomato paste, savory snacks, cold beverages and energy.
In 2013, the acquisition of Kraft Foods Türkiye’s snacks business added the Patos, Cipso and Çerezos brands, alongside manufacturing experience, category expertise and operational know-how.
A new chapter in the heart of Europe.
Karakan Foods Hungary Kft. is the European savory-snacks manufacturing platform of Doğuş Çay and is 100% owned by the group.
We are developing a production base in Orosháza, Hungary, to serve branded, private-label and contract-manufacturing opportunities across Europe. The project combines group food expertise with a Central European location and a long-term development direction.

Distribution and packaging.
Istanbul distribution operations in 1987, followed by tea packaging operations in 1989.

Tea production expands.
Kavaklı in 1990, İyidere in 1992 and Fındıklı in 1995; sugar packaging is added in 1994.

A wider tea footprint.
Ordu tea packaging in 1999, Pazar tea production in 2001, and Salarha and Kalkandere tea production in 2005.

A broader food portfolio.
The tomato paste production factory joins the group’s food footprint.

A defining step in snacks.
Kraft Foods Türkiye’s snacks business is acquired; the Aksaray chips production factory is added to the group story.

Beverage production.
The beverage production factory broadens the portfolio.

Afyon Sugar Factory.
The Afyon Sugar Factory is acquired.

The Demko brand and factory are acquired; Karakan Energy features in the group’s development.

The Rize tea packaging factory extends the tea operations.

Bursa chips production.
The Bursa chips production factory is established.
